I have recently realised that people actually visit and read things on my blog and some even asked me why am I not writing more. To be honest, I am bored of writing/talking about tech stuff. I am not a serious blogger and by the time I write something about any burning tech subject it has already passed into history. And even if I were quicker to write about things I don’t find them very interesting.
There is a lot of hype about a lot of things in tech. Remember when ChatGPT hit the streets? I have been doing this for too long to not see it as yet another bubble that will eventually burst. I see it more as stepping stone to something we may reach one day in the future. However, both the hype and the fear spread online in various circles ended up being just noise. While it’s fun to use a lot of these new hyped tools in my daily work, after 8h dealing with them I don’t feel like spending my private time talking more about the same subject.
So, I’ve decided to not do that and try something new. I plan to write once a month either a review of a book that I have read, as I read really a lot and always have, or about a tabletop game that I have tried/played. Or something about miniature painting. Those are the things that get me all excited.
I have a pile of books that I have recently read and that I would like to share some thoughts on. I am mentally working on a rather long essay on a series of books called “Warhammer 40K Crime”, which can be seen as CSI Warhammer. If you don’t know what Warhammer 40K is, don’t worry. You soon will. If the deal between Games Workshop and Amazon goes as they plan I think that everyone will know about Warhammer whether they want it or not. Which is very much in the spirit of the Warhammer world.
I am currently thinking about writing a short intro to the world of Warhammer 40000 so that I could be more focused on the book reviews without digressing to explain what is what. That might be a good writing exercise to warm my brain up for the actual essay that I want to write.
Anyway, I am going to start working on that intro essay and see how that goes. I might even post it this week.
